Product reviews

A feature

Native WooCommerce product reviews, with the parts WooCommerce never finished.

WooCommerce gives you product reviews. A comment box at the bottom of the product page, a star rating attached to the comment, an “Average rating” calculation. That’s the foundation. Trustie picks up where Woo stops: brand-styled review tab, verified-purchase badge, aggregate that combines product reviews with your testimonials and your Google reviews, and a unified reviews page that pulls from all three.

What you get

  • Brand-styled review tab on the product page. Star summary at the top with the count beside it, then the review list, then the submission form. Styled via Designer so it matches the rest of your site.
  • Submission form with star rating, display name (pre-filled for logged-in customers), email (for guests), and review body. Posts to WordPress’s standard wp-comments-post.php endpoint, so it integrates with the same approval and spam pipeline you already trust.
  • Verified-purchase badge on reviews from customers who actually bought the product. Detected via WooCommerce’s order history.
  • Aggregate rating that includes more than just product reviews. The unified aggregate (shown on the auto-generated reviews page and via shortcodes) combines product reviews, testimonials, and Google reviews into one number.
  • Respects each product’s comments_open() setting. Turn off reviews on a specific product in WC and Trustie’s tab disappears too. No separate per-product toggle to keep in sync.
  • Imports existing WC reviews automatically. Reviews already in wp_comments appear the moment Trustie activates. Hit Sync once in Import Tools to recompute the per-product counts and the unified aggregate.

You can switch Trustie off and keep the reviews

Trustie reads from and writes to WordPress comments (comment_type = 'review'). It doesn’t have its own reviews database table. Deactivate Trustie tomorrow and every review your customers left is still in WordPress, still attached to its product, still available to whatever displays them next. Lock-in is zero by design.

Why shops turn it on with Pro

Free product reviews cover the foundation. Trustie Pro layers on photo uploads with an accessible lightbox, demographic fields on the submission form (size, skin type, age) that show next to the reviewer’s name as display context, a custom form builder for category-specific questions, owner responses where your reply appears under the review on the product page, helpful voting where customers up-vote reviews that helped them, and richer filtering on the reviews page (by rating, by demographic, by whether a photo is attached).
