A rewards line in the order email

A feature

The email they already open tells them what the order earned.

The weakest moment in a loyalty programme is the gap between earning and finding out. Somebody buys something, points are awarded when the order completes, and the customer learns about it the next time they happen to visit their account page. Which for most people is never.

Run Perkie and Tracksies HQ together and HQ’s order emails can say it directly. A {rewards_line} placeholder, dropped into any customer-facing order template, fills itself in with what that order earned.

Why a placeholder rather than another email

Because another email is another email.

The order confirmation is the single most-opened message a shop sends. Putting the reward there means it arrives inside something the customer already wanted to read, at the moment they’re thinking about the purchase. A separate "you earned points" message competes with that, and loses.

It also means you decide where it goes. It’s a placeholder in a template you already edit, so it can sit under the totals, after the thanks, or wherever it reads best in your wording.

What it says

When there are points on the order, the line states what was earned, using whatever you have named your points.

When there’s nothing to report, the placeholder resolves to nothing at all and the email reads as though it was never there. No empty row, no "you earned 0 points", no explaining to a customer why their order earned nothing.

The case it handles carefully

Points land when an order reaches Completed, not when it’s placed. So an order-received email genuinely can’t say what was earned yet, because nothing has been.

Rather than guess or promise, the line stays quiet in that state. Where the customer is being invited to create an account, the nudge handles that instead, and the two never talk over each other.

Turning it on

Both plugins active, then add {rewards_line} to whichever HQ order templates you want it in. There’s no separate setting and no second email to design.
